Questionnaires
Developing a Questionnaire
- Good questionnaires are designed.
- If you write your questionnaires without designing them first, your chances of success are limited.
- The following procedure is effective:
- Determine what facts and opinions must be collected and from whom you should get them.
- If the number of people is large, consider using a smaller, randomly selected group of respondents.
- Based on the needed facts and opinions, determine whether free- or fixed-format questions will produce the best answers.
- A combination format that permits optional free-format clarification of fixed-format responses is often used.
