Figure A.2 A Development Center Organization
As shown in the figure above, a development center typically reports to that manager who oversees all information systems development. A fully staffed and mature development center might include the following specialists:
- A methodology coordinator.
- Methodology experts (sometimes called methodologists) who train developers and consult to developers.
- Tool experts (sometimes called CASE tool analysts) who train developers, consult to developers, and install and support development technologies.
- Quality analysts who establish and document development standards, and implement processes to evaluate quality of appropriate project deliverables.
- Measurement analysts who establish metrics and measure productivity and quality.
- Repository managers who manage the consolidation of system models, specifications, and components.
