Corporate rightsizing has changed the structure and culture of most organizations. Rigid hierarchical command structures and permanent teams have been replaced by more flexible and temporary interdepartmental teams that are given greater responsibility and authority for the success of organizations. Contemporary system development methodologies are dependent upon building teams to include both technical and non-technical people, users and managers, and information specialists all directed to the project goal. These dynamic teams require leadership and project management.
